In this guide, you’ll find details on our baggage fees and how to pre-pay for first and second checked bags.

IMPORTANT: On June 1, 2022, our baggage fee for the first and second bag increased by $10 CAD (or currency equivalent) when purchasing checked baggage within 24 hours of departure including when checking-in at the airport.

Changes to baggage fees will apply to bookings made April 27 onwards, for travel on or after June 1, 2022.

Your clients will save by pre-paying for their first and second bag, before the 24-hour check-in window.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What happens if my client booked before April 27, and did not pre-pay for their baggage before the 24-hour check-in window?
A: If your client booked before April 27, they will need to check in with an airport agent and self-identify to pay the lower baggage fee amount.

Q: Should I pre-pay for my client’s baggage if they booked a WestJet Vacations package?
